Communication Campaign for "Green Growth (GG), Sustainable Consumption in the Transportation and Commerce Sector, etc. and Application of Green Production models, Green Consumption, and Green Lifestyle'' has officially started

From May 4, 2017, the communication campaign for “Green Growth (GG), sustainable consumption of transportation and commerce sector, etc., promoting green production models, green consumption, green lifestyle” has officially started. The media campaign is organized by the Institute of Ecology and Environment (EEI) and CREATIO Creative Solutions Company Limited under the supervision and management of the PMU "Capacity Building Support And institutional reform for green growth and sustainable development in Vietnam" - CIGG.

The promotion campaign is going to be implemented within 17 months from May 2017 to October 2018 with five main objectives that plan to contribute to the planning and implementation of policies promoting green production, green living and sustainable consumption for target groups, with a hope to create positive impacts on the perception and behavior of the public.

These five objectives of the GG promotion campaign are as follows:

Among the activities that run throughout the media campaign towards these types of audience, the most notable ones are:

LOGO WITH THE SLOGAN "GREEN TODAY AND TOMORROW" - THE PROSPECTIVE SYMBOL OF THE PROJECT: July 17 2017 – July 28 2017

The first activity is a survey of community and professional designers/artists to choose the most suitable Logo with the theme "Green Growth and Sustainable Development" along with the slogan "Green Today and Tomorrow.” This logo will act as a symbol throughout the project.

DESIGN AND PRODUCE COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS ON GG

GG messages are conveyed through communication products such as leaflets, electronic brochures, notebooks, banners, posters, hats and shirts, which are eye-catching and in line with environmental protection criteria. These products are communication materials for subsequent activities in the GG series.

ESTABLISH A WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE FOR GREEN GROWTH

The image and message of a project with an intensive scope such as GG cannot lack a website providing overall information and knowledge about green growth worldwide and in Vietnam. In addition, the website is where we can update policies of the Government on GG, get information about GG, past experience, information about enterprises, organizations and model residential areas that follow a green lifestyle, green production and sustainable consumption, as well as collect comments from the public on any draft GG policies.

In addition, Facebook has also been chosen as a communications tool because of its interactivity with readers and its ability to spread information to a wide variety of media targets. The articles on the Website and Facebook page of GG Vietnam will be linked and shared with the website of administrative agency - MPI, as well as other donors and partners, to increase the project's scope of influence.

ISSUE ELECTRONIC NEWS TO UPDATE NEW POLICIES ON GG 

With the number of 04 quarterly newsletters, the electronic newsletter is where one can update policies and information on GG from different ministries, agencies and localities. These newsletters are sent directly through personal and group e-mails to Departments related to GG, donors, partners, businesses and individuals subscribing to GG. At the same time, collaborate with the Environment Magazine to publish monthly issues.

PUBLISH SHORT FILMS/DOCUMENTARIES

To increase the variety of media products, two short films will be released during the GG promotion campaign. In particular, the first film will be a documentary for the community, policy makers, businesses, etc. with the purpose of promoting examples of model enterprises that produce merchandise in the direction of Green growth, low emission, energy efficiency. The second film is an animated movie with exciting effects to attract young people and make a profound impact in the community.

RADIO AND TELEVISION BROADCASTS

With two broadcasts per month, in total 24 throughout the project, radio broadcasts aim to provide listeners with information on green growth. The biggest advantage of radio broadcasts is that the message will spread widely to different regions thanks to the popularity and proximity of radio stations to the people. Therefore, the GG news will be broadcasted in the “golden” time frame to attract the attention of listeners.

In addition, the project coordinates with national television stations to broadcast newsletters, reports on green growth, green lifestyles, green production and sustainable consumption, as well as related policies and plans. The number of TV broadcast is 06 and are also expected to be broadcasted in the “golden” time frame of the nationwide TV channels.

DESIGN INFOGRAPHICS

With the aim of providing brief and comprehensible information to a wide range of audience, the project will design four bilingual infographics (01 per quarter), published on the website, Facebook page, posted on the Environment Magazine and the websites of the project partners.

THE GREEN WEEK IN SUPPORTING GREEN GROWTH: November 2017

The next event is Cycling for the Green Week, with the participation of schools and social organizations. During the event, the crowd will march around Hoan Kiem Lake and neighboring streets, with each flagpole carrying the message of the project. The program will take place in November 2017 and expects to attract more than 100 participants.

THE GREEN JOURNEY: Aug 01 – Oct 09, 2017

"The Green Journey" is the next activity of the campaign, built on the idea of ​​journey from the North to South of the country with seminars and contests to generate GG ideas and sustainable consumption in the field of Transportation and Commerce, etc. for students of major universities in three areas: North, Central and South. In each area, we will collect the student's excellent GG ideas and paste them on the "Journey" tree.

The program promotes students to learn about Green growth and development, to develop ideas and innovations on GG and sustainable consumption in the field of Transportation and Commerce, etc. and to raise awareness on green lifestyle, green production and sustainable consumption. The program aims encourage young people, the future generation of the country, on Green Growth and sustainability.

A TALK ON BUILDING COMPETITIVENESS CAPACITY BY GREEN PRODUCTION: February 25, 2018

The GG campaign will continue with the talk on enhancing competitiveness through green production, which took place on Feb 25, 2018. Through the seminar, attendees will be provided with information on green growth in the world, as well as the actual and potential development of GG in the context of Vietnam. In addition, the seminar also aims to support businesses/business households in sharing experience and learning about green production models.

I’M LIVING GREEN

The final activity of the campaign is to support the Global Citizenship course "I’m Living Green," a  course co-organized by the Institute of Ecology and Environment (EEI) and CREATIO Creative Solutions Company Limited, along with the Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam. In this program, students will be inspired by green behaviors in life "for a greener tomorrow."

With various forms of media such as brochures, websites, Facebook pages, e-newsletters, radio newscasts and TV channels, the Green Growth campaign is expected to make a profound and lasting impact among the community on green behaviors, towards the development of a sustainable Vietnam.
