Project CS-7 "Development of manuals and guidebooks on planning, management and control of industrial pollution for industrial zones in Nhue-Day and Dong Nai river basin" is being implemented by EEI under the activity of WB's project "Industrial Pollution Management". That aims to develop the manuals, specialized guidebooks for a better industrial pollution control and management of industrial zones located within Dong Nai and Nhue-Day river with a number of consultant's tasks including: (i) Evaluate and update information, reports on existing Industrial Zones in the two river basin (Dong Nai and Nhue-Day river basins); (ii) Carry out surveys at a number of industrial zones in the two river basins to update required information and to identify the weakness, gaps and constraints which need to be further improved for a better pollution control and management in Vietnam; (iii) Identify the list and scope of user manuals, guidebooks on pollution planning, management and controlling of industrial zones in the Dong Nai and Nhue-Day River basins; (iv) Develop manuals and specialized guidebooks on pollution planning, management and control for industrial zones; (v) Carry out pilot to test relevancy and apply the user manuals and guidebooks in the IZs; (vi) Organize consultation workshops, meetings and surveys with relevant skateholders to ensure the feasibility and the quality of manuals and guidebooks before being tested through a pilot program in some selected key industrial zones with 4 project provinces (Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Dong Nai and Vung Tau); (vii) Provide trainings to users of these manuals and guidebooks as and when required to ensure an effective and long-term applicability and feasibility of the manuals and guidebooks.

From May 5th to June 18th , 2015, EEI carried out the first surveys at some industrial zones in the Nhue - Day and Dong Nai river basins to work with Departments of Planning and Investment (DPI), Industrial Zones Authorities (IZAs) and update required information at 12 provinces including: Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Hoa Binh, Long An, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City. The overall objective of the field trip is to collect information, data which is servicing for analysis, research and evaluation of the situation as well as the need about guidance and knowledge to serve the planning, management and controlling for industrial pollution in Industrial Zones in the Nhue – Day river and Dong Nai river basins.
